ONI KING OF BOSTON // Mixed Nikkeijin + Filipinx Drag Performer

The Oni King of Boston, KILLABITE is a transmasc drag king & drag thing performing in the Northeastern United States, primarily in Boston, Providence, and Salem. Centering their mixed Filipinx and Japanese heritage, KILLABITE brings their own unique twist to alt and creature drag by infusing folklore and mythology into their demonic performances. Their drag pulls influence from body horror in film, practical SFX processes, stories about aswang and yokai, Japanese horror, anime, and sci-fi films.

"With the rise of transphobic propaganda and legislation that hinges on the demonization of trans people, my performances as an oni (demon/ogre in Japanese folklore) reclaim power from these destructive narratives by turning them into opportunities to share my culture with the BIPOC trans and queer community in Boston. The goal of my drag is to inspire other queer Asians in my community to be proud of their heritage and fearlessly express themselves. Additionally, I seek to energize and connect Boston audiences to Filipino and Japanese culture by infusing folklore and mythology into my demonic performances."

KILLABITE creates most of their costumes, props and prosthetics by hand and choreographs every performance. They are a Class 8 graduate of Jayden Jamison's Kingdom workshop, a 4-week long drag king class that takes place bi-annually in Cambridge, MA.
